Tuscaloosa County Park & Recreation Authority (PARA) Invites Families to Celebrate Father's Day with Free Fishing Event at Van De Graaff Park
Tuscaloosa, AL – June 5, 2024 – The Tuscaloosa County Park & Recreation Authority (PARA) is excited to announce a special Father’s Day event, "Reel It In with Dad," offering free fishing at Van De Graaff Park on June 15th and 16th. This family-friendly event provides an excellent opportunity for quality time and helps manage the fish population in our local ponds.

- Time: All day
- Cost: Free (regular daily fishing rate is $5)
Fishing Guidelines: The Alabama Department of Wildlife and Fisheries recently conducted a survey of the fish population in the ponds at Van De Graaff Park. The results showed that the ponds are overpopulated, and to maintain a healthy ecosystem, PARA needs the community's help. We encourage participants to catch and keep all Crappies, Bream, Gar, Suckerfish, and Carp. To support our Bass population, all Bass are catch and release only.
